Synopsis by Hal Erickson
On this daily, ten-minute British children's program, the human host (originally Alan Rothwell) would welcome the kiddies into Hickory House, then make a quick exist on some pretense or other. The rest of the episode would be given over to a collection of anthropomorphic household objects (puppets, created by Barry Smith), among them Humphrey Cushion and Dusty Mop. These colorful characters would get into all manner of mischief, somehow setting things aright by the time the host returned home. Hickory House premiered over Granada Television in 1973, eventually lasting 100 episodes.
