Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Although produced for Australian television, the daily children's series Hi-5 boasted a literally "All-American" cast. Combining education with music, the series explored senses, shapes, and colors in a modern, hip-hop fashion, using songs, dances, puppets, games, and toys. The performers, all of whom hailed from the United States, included Kimee Balmilero, who handled the "Puzzles and Patterns" segments; Karla Cheatham-Mosley, who did the "Body Move" segments; Curtis Cregan, who specialized in "Making Music"; Jennifer Peterson-Hind, the house specialist in "Word Play"; and Shaun Taylor-Corbett, who trafficked in "Shapes and Space." Created by Helena Harris (of Bananas in Pyjamas fame) and Posie Graeme-Evans, Hi-5 made its American debut as part of The Learning Channel's weekday "Ready Set Learn" lineup on February 26, 2003.
