Synopsis by Eleanor Mannikka
In this satire of leftist films about workers, three such filmmakers descend on Dieter, a young man trying to fix his ailing excuse for an automobile when these strangers make his acquaintance. Aping the questionable practice of directors prying into the private lives of their working-class subjects with purely exploitative intentions, the three get invited into Dieter's small apartment, visit his family, interview his boss, try to get the workers in Dieter's small print shop to unionize (and then to strike), and generally wreak as much havoc as possible. In hindsight, Herzlichen Glueckwunsch might as well be satirizing many a news crew out for a story.
