Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Though nothing special, Heroes del Aire was deemed worthy of entry in the 1957 San Sebastian Film Festival. Told in flashback, this is the story of air-rescue pilot Alfredo Mayo. Beginning with his participation in the Spanish Civil War, the film culminates with the hero's rescue of a planeload of terrified passengers. What no one knows is that he has been motivated not by courage, but by fear: He'd rather face death than admit to his part in a scandal that could destroy his entire family. Though Alfredo Mayo is the real star of Heroes del Aire, top billing goes to leading lady Lina Morales.
