Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Adapted from a story by Peter B. Kyne, Hero on Horseback features Hoot Gibson as the title character. The old Hooter plays a chronic gambler whose addiction has lost him his ranch. On the verge of total bustitude, Gibson discovers that a gold mine, of which he is part-owner, has finally paid off. Once his debts are settled, his first move is to buy out the local banker who'd foreclosed on him in the first reel. Gibson then sets up a gambling emporium, where his fellow cowboys are allowed to wager to their heart's content without fear of reprisal from that cold-hearted banker.
