The storyline of Her New York is quite simple -- Phoebe (Gladys Hulette) dreams of New York City's excitement so she moves there. She gets married to Phillip (William Parke, Jr.) an aspiring poet, and they adopt a homeless baby. Their pleasant life takes on a grimmer hue when Phillip's gambling gets him into debt, and his boss begins to lust after Phoebe. In order to break down the marriage, the boss convinces Phoebe that Phillip is deceiving her. But the couple overcome their difficulties and everything is bright once again. The real star of this picture is scenarist Agnes Johnston, who took this plot and made it into something breezy, charming and humorous. Johnston had written a script before for Hulette, Prudence the Pirate, and the forces at Pathe, realizing they had a good thing going, put the two together again.
