This Belgian documentary celebrates the life and work of documentary filmmaker Henri Storck, whose career spans much of the 20th century. Among other subjects, he has done biographical films on the lives of famous Flemish painters like Peter Paul Rubens, exposed the horrifying working conditions endured by Belgian miners in his 1930s documentary Misere au Borinage, and explored the lives of famous contemporary Belgian artists, as in his 1984 documentary about Permeke. Interviews with the great filmmaker himself, and with his friends and colleagues, as well as clips from his many films, illuminate this exploration of the man and his work.
