A veteran detective investigates a series of explosions that shake his quiet seaside community as author Henning Mankell's most famous character makes the leap to the big screen. Detective Kurt Wallander (Krister Henriksson) is celebrating his 62nd birthday in his new oceanfront home when a massive explosion rips through Ystad. The local power transformer has been destroyed, and as the city sits in darkness, more blasts are quick to follow. Before long the military has taken over the streets, and the locals have started whispering about sabotage. Could this be in response to the new Islamic display that has one up in Ystad?
