Synopsis by Eleanor Mannikka
This informative documentary interviews members of Hong Kong Triads (criminal organizations) whose identities are kept hidden. These members discuss Triad rituals -- such as drinking blood to become a member -- violence, and Triad control of the drug trade, pornography, and prostitution. An interview with a British social worker brings up the extent of Triad influence in the police force and government of Hong Kong. It remains to be seen whether the mainland Chinese government will find them useful or antagonistic as they consolidate their own control over this metropolis of both poverty and big business.
