Synopsis by Janiss Garza
This Civil War romance was an independently made program picture. Captain Bernard Tyler of the United States Army (Gladden James) has a home in the South, and that's where he is when the Civil War breaks out. Since he sides with the Union, he is asked to leave, but he pauses to say good-bye to his fiancée, Virginia Rutledge (Edna Mayo), who sides with the South. The vindictive Jim Rabun (Frederick Hearn) -- angry because Virginia fired him after his cruel treatment of her father's slaves -- betrays Tyler to the Confederates. Tyler at first believes that Virginia is to blame, but she proves her innocence. Rabun, meanwhile, joins in on the fighting and uses the wartime atmosphere as an excuse to go after Virginia. The war, however, comes to an end, and Tyler rounds up both Union and Confederate soldiers to come to her rescue. With the nation whole once again, the couple is reunited.
