Synopsis by Eleanor Mannikka
In a fast-paced, partly comedic story set in the second two decades of the 20th century, three unlikely friends find fame and fortune together. The three grow up in the same neighborhood and although they are widely different in their economic and social backgrounds, each loves music. One is the son of a well-known, sophisticated politician, another is the son of the maid who does the laundry at the politician's home, and the third is poor and has an alcoholic father. Coming together just at the time that the tango emerges on the musical scene, the three friends decide to set up a band. Given their talent and rapport and the serendipity of the new tango sound, the band looks like it has a good chance of making it big and changing their lives.
