Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Though best known for its risky, cutting-edge adult programming, Britain's Channel 5 also boasted a full complement of imaginative children's programs. One such was Havakazoo, an edutainment effort aimed at preschoolers. Originating as a regional program on Scottish television, the series served up a delightful daily blend of music, comedy, mime, juggling, how-to tips, and even robotics. If nothing else, the series bestowed stardom upon hosts Gabrielle Bradshaw and Jason Maverick, who quickly became popular draws on the personal-appearance circuit. Havakazoo first aired nationally in 1998.
