Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Similar in concept to the American series Lidsville, this animated British series chronicled the adventures of the citizens of Hattytown. Using a stop-motion process, the producers managed to create a colorful population of humanized hats, including Sancho the Sombero, Carrots the Donkey, and little Bobby. Among the other residents of Hattytown were the Mayor, the Constable, the Milkman, and the Detective (the last-named character was an anthropomorphic deerstalker hat). Assembled by the same folks responsible for The Womblies, the many five-minute episodes of Hattytown Tales were syndicated in the United Kingdom beginning in 1969.
