Born Salvatore Guaragna, the Brooklyn Italian-American gained fame as a composer under the name of Harry Warren (1893-1981). Warren penned the music for 64 Hollywood movies, including Sun Valley Serenade (1941) and An Affair to Remember (1957). This program compiles several short films and clips from the 1930s and 1940s that focus on Warren and his music, including such hit movie songs as the Academy Award-winning "Lullaby of Broadway," "42nd Street," "Jeepers Creepers," "Chattanooga Choo Choo," "Shuffle Off to Buffalo," "I Only Have Eyes for You," and others. Also included is a sequence from Hollywood and the Stars, narrated by actor Joseph Cotten.
