An idealistic Russian war veteran finds his romanticized view of Moscow increasingly corroded after venturing to the capitol from his country home and joining the police force in hopes of fixing the system from the inside out. Whenever Anton (Yevgeni Antropov) thinks of Moscow, he is immediately transported back to the day when his childhood crush Zine (Anastasiya Bezborodova) moved away with her family to start life anew in the Russian capitol. A former soldier whose ideas and values are relics of a bygone era, Anton decides to chase his dream by traveling to Moscow and locating the beautiful Zina. Yet while finding Zina proves somewhat easy, Anton is heartbroken to discover that she wants nothing to do with him. Later, after Anton is roughed up by a group of corrupt policemen, he decides to enroll in the force and enact change through action. Unfortunately for Anton, sadistic policeman Chakhlov (Dmitri Kulichkov) has other, much more nefarious plans for the naïve new arrival.
