Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Set in 15th-century Sweden, Harald Hondfaste is a swashbuckler in the grand tradition. The titular hero spends his waking hours fighting the enemies and would-be oppressors of his homeland. George Fant, whom one American critic likened to Errol Flynn, plays the leading character with dash and panache. Harald Hondfaste was a major hit in Sweden, where the postwar demand for escapist entertainment was at its height. Still, it wasn't picked up for American distribution, perhaps because it was too much like the standard Hollywood action-adventure product of the era.
