Mark Damon is a long way from his days as Roger Corman's favorite Poe hero in this tatty Spanish vampire film from director Ray Danton (The Deathmaster). Chris Bolton (Andrew Prine from Simon, King of the Witches) comes to a creepy seaside castle on Vampire Island where his father was crushed beneath the stone coffin of Hannah, who was buried alive in 1269 as the result of her persecution by the Second Crusade. She was King Louis VII's daughter, but supposedly became a vampire after crashing on the island. Peter (Damon) claims to be a writer researching a new book, but the 700-year old Hannah (Teresa Gimpera) soon arises from her tomb and begins putting the bite on everyone as both a vampire and a werewolf, revealing Peter's true intentions as her devoted worshiper and the man who killed Chris' father. Spanish horror veterans Patty Shepard and Frank Brana co-star and exploitation regular John Alderman appears briefly as a fisherman in this disappointing release from Orbita Films and Lou Shaw's Coast Industries, which was re-edited for American release.
