Synopsis by Maggie Sadler
In Chicago's depressed inner-city suburbs, Black teenager Jowann (Jermaine Johnson) finds himself caught in a continuum of violence and gang activity, with little hope for escape. As protests in support of the Black Lives Matter movement sweep across the city, inciting further division and chaos, the teen finds himself grappling with loss when his cousin, Jacob (Kris D. Lofton), is fatally shot by a white police officer. Jowann then strives to find a way out of his community before the bloodshed claims him as well. Written and directed by Chuck Whitman. Jamal Woolard co-stars.
