Synopsis by Kaitlin Elise Miller
Tavi Gevinson narrates this examination of the rise and fall of American womenswear fashion designer Roy Halston Frowick, who shot to fame in the 1970s after designing for Jacqueline Kennedy, Cher, and other celebrities. His designs changed American fashion, but his empire crumbled when he became the first high-end designer to try to sell affordable versions of his designs. Interviews with Liza Minnelli, Naeem Khan and others provide insight into the man behind the brand. Directed by Frédéric Tcheng.
