Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Originating as a regional British TV show in 1981 or thereabouts, the kiddie extravaganza Gus Honeybun was soon picked up for national play by the old TSW network. Gus Honeybun was a toy rabbit puppet with but one moving part on his face, a drooping eyelid. Clearly operated by a somewhat corpulent stagehand, Gus read birthday requests, showed pictures sent in by the kids, sang songs, and ran films. Stupefyingly cheap, the series' only attempt at production values was the occasional chromakey "psychedelic effect." It is not known when Gus Honeybun officially left the air, but it was probably around the same time that TSW was disbanded.
