OZ has captured Luxembourg, and Lieutenant Zechs and Noin establish it as their base of operations. As preparations get underway, a carrier ship arrives with the original Tallgeese Gundam mobile suit. Despite the danger -- the suit has left the test pilot hospitalized -- Zechs takes to the Tallgeese cockpit, ordering an immediate deployment to liberate the Sanc Kingdom from the Alliance. Meanwhile, Heero has transferred to the same school as Duo, where they spar over Heero's reluctance to blend in with the rest of the students. As they discuss whether to destroy a nearby base, Heero is surprised at the sudden arrival of Relena, who has been searching for him. In the Sanc Kingdom, the battle doesn't go well for OZ; the Alliance has far more firepower than anticipated, and Zechs orders a full retreat and regroup, surprising even himself -- if he is piloting a mobile suit as powerful as the Tallgeese, he wonders, why is he so certain he will die if he continues the attack?
