Synopsis by Hal Erickson
A combination dramatic anthology and panel show, the Canadian series Guilty or Not Guilty offered virtually verbatim restaging of genuine trials and jury cases. Just before the verdict was announced, the scene switched to a group of panelists who tried to determine whether or not the defendant would be found guilty or not guilty. When the panel segment of the program ended, it was back to the "courtroom," where the actual verdict was revealed. Hosted by attorney Duncan Crux and broadcast from the CBC's Vancouver studios, Guilty or Not Guilty aired on Sunday afternoons from October 5, 1958 to January 31, 1959.
