Synopsis by Daniel Gelb
David Gold (Pat Mills) is a man stuck in a rut. The onetime host of a children's program called Wacky Town, he spends his working hours emceeing a radio self-help show, and his free time watching old VHS cassettes of himself as a child star and drinking his way into oblivion. Then opportunity knocks, in the form of a guidance counselor position at a local high school. Though David lacks the qualifications, he adopts the pseudonym of an academic from an internet video, forges a resume, dons the appropriate costume, and within a few days, has landed the said job. His unconventional methods of student help include dispensing vodka in shot glasses and encouraging a lovelorn girl to find the dumbest boyfriend she can; all seems headed for disaster, especially when the opportunity materializes to hit the road with his young charges in a stolen, hot-wired car.
