In his second Growing Pains appearance, Brad Pitt is cast as rock superstar Jonathan Keith. Aware that son Ben (Jeremy Miller) idolizes Keith, Maggie (Joanna Kerns) arranges for the boy to attend the singer's sold-out concert--and even fixes it so that Ben can attend a warmup session. In the course of the evening, however, an eavesdropping Jason (Alan Thicke) discovers that the great Jonathan Keith is a gold-plated phony who despises his fans...especially kids like Ben!
