P.C. Barua directs this romantic drama about a love triangle between the Mahim, an intellectual of modest means; his friend, Suresh, a wealthy traditionalist; and Achala, the modern thinking woman the two fall for. Though Mahim eventually marries Achala, she has a hard time forgetting about Suresh. This longing is inflamed by her unhappiness at moving to Mahim's remote village. Later, when their house burns to the ground and Mahim is struck by an unfortunate illness, Suresh comes to the financial rescue. As Mahim is sent to a spa to convalesce, Suresh and Achala succumb to their long-repressed passion.
