Synopsis by Augustine Chay
Director Aaron Schneider’s WWII drama is an adaptation of “The Good Shepherd,” a 1955 novel by C. S. Forester. Starring Tom Hanks, Elisabeth Shue, Rob Morgan, and Stephen Graham, it follows a U.S. Navy Commander’s valiant efforts to lead an Allied convoy to Liverpool during the Battle of the Atlantic. As they travel through ocean waters without the protection of air cover, the convoy is targeted by a wolf pack of U-boats (i.e., German military submarines).
