Farmer Leo Bannister (Aubrey Beattie) courts Auriole Praed (Marjorie Rambeau), but she is turned off by his aggressive approach. So she leaves him and goes to Paris with her brother. There, she meets artist Otto Bettany (Hassan Musselli) and marries him. They come back to New York, where Bannister has also settled and made a fortune. He's still sore that Auriole dumped him and he gets revenge by introducing Bettany to vampish stage star Ida Angley (Sara Haidez). Ida does her job well, and Bannister uses Bettany's unfaithfulness to make a play for Auriole. But she proves to be an understanding young wife and forgives her slightly wayward husband.
