In this program, the only movie footage of the Titanic is presented, showing the ill-fated ship at Belfast before the voyage and the ice floes where the ship encountered the iceberg. The rescue ship Carpathia is seen returning to New York with the survivors, as city residents await their arrival on the docks with offers of clothing. The 1912 film was discovered in an English garden shed, and the elderly woman who found it is interviewed. Great Ships: The Lost Film of the Titanic also includes interviews with survivors, including Charles Herbert Lightoller, a senior officer of the ship.
