Synopsis by Rose of Sharon Winter
This video is part of a series that presents the history of some the finest airplanes in the United States military arsenal. The program includes a tour of each plane, personal recollections by the personnel who served on board the aircraft, and exciting archival film footage of flight missions. This episode features the F-86 Sabre Jet. The venerable plane first flew in 1947, at almost 700 miles per hour, and held six world speed records. The swept-wing airplane saw combat over Korea, where it proved deadly against the Russian-made MiGs.
