This video is part of a series that presents the history of some of the finest airplanes in the United States military arsenal. The program includes a tour of each plane, personal recollections by the personnel who served on board the aircraft, and exciting archival film footage of flight missions. This program pays homage to the Stratofortress, which patrolled the skies around the clock for the 30 years of the cold war. The eight-engine plane was fondly dubbed "BUFF," for Big Ugly Fat Fellow, by its crew. Nonetheless, they knew the great plane was ready to strike from long distances whenever needed.
