Synopsis by Alice Day
Treachery and deceit marked the reign of the Moghuls, and Aurangzeb became ruler only by killing two siblings. In this group of programs, the powerful leaders of the Moghul empire are profiled, and their efforts to bring their beliefs and practices to a huge population are examined. During his era, Aurangzeb tried to persuade the Hindu segment of the citizenry to embrace the laws of Islam, but to little avail. His fanatical approach to religion alienated the people, and many of his subjects revolted. After his death in 1707, the line of Moghuls began its decline.
