Synopsis by Nathan Southern
Of the many accommodations available to travelers in the United States, few claim as much distinction as the signature hotels associated with national parks. As produced by, and originally aired on, PBS, this program offers a tour of some of the most glorious lodgings in and around national parks, honing in exclusively on the American West and Pacific Rim regions. Featured inns include Hawaii's Volcano House (in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park); Camp Denali (in Alaska's Denali National Park); the Stanley Hotel (near the Rocky Mountain National Park - a residence that inspired Stephen King to write The Shining) and five additional national park hotels.
