Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Hoping to improve her chances in the workplace, Florida (Esther Rolle) begins attending night school in pursuit of her high-school equivalency diploma. Though most everyone is thrilled at Florida's progress, her nocturnal classroom duties put a severe strain on her marriage. It isn't that James (John Amos) wants Florida to stay home -- simply that he's reluctant to have a wife who is "smarter" than he.
