Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Though not the first of Australia's network wake-up programs, Good Morning Australia is generally considered the best of the batch. Bert Newton hosted the series, co-starring with Kerri-Anne Kennerly during the first two seasons. In addition to presenting the usual news and interviews, the series was topheavy with entertainment, usually musical in nature. Debuting over Australia's 10 Network in 1991, the daily, two-hour Good Morning Australia showed no signs of slowing down as the 20th century segued into the 21st.
