A Good Job for a Woman is a six-part series created to introduce a wide variety of career choices, and the scores of options within each field. It's especially designed to encourage and motivate young people to consider careers in the math and science fields. Each program profiles women on-the-job to provide a realistic look at the workplace experience. The women also discuss their personal lives and career choices. A Good Job for a Woman: Mathematics explores the breadth of this career option. Mathematics has been applied to a wide range of disciplines and has significantly contributed to advances in a broad range of fields. Job opportunities are found in industry, business, and teaching. In this program, viewers learn about the world of a marine mammal biologist, behavioral scientist, an environmental project scientist, an agricultural economist, and an oceanographer-mathematician.
