Love and heartbreak are the focus of this quiet drama set in Kazakhstan, a former Russian state located near Mongolia in central Asia. Timur raises doves. Though a young man, that is about all he does. After his girlfriend leaves him, Timur falls in love and marries Elya, his lovely neighbor. They are happy until she dies in childbirth. The grief maddened Timur then kills a man and is jailed. He escapes and returns a haunted man, to his beloved doves.
