Music in Time: The Golden Age is the fourth installment of a 16-part series by James Galway tracing the history of western music. This program concentrates on the time period of Elizabeth I. Music was leaving the courts and entering the popular realm. Opera was introduced in Italy and France and madrigals were all the rage. Galway often uses entire excerpts in his presentation. Works presented here include Morley's Fyre, Fyre, Holburn's The Honeysuckle, several songs by Dowland Mistress Winter, Caccini's Amarille Mea Bella, and Purcell's Ode to St. Cecilia.
