Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Mary Keene (Alma Hanlon) works swindles with confidence man Robert Moran (Charles Hutchinson). Moran sends Mary to work as a stenographer for lawyer John Ingalls (Bigelow Cooper), who has a weakness for children. The schemers use a little girl (Blanche Burns) (supposedly Mary's sister) to gain Ingalls' trust, sympathy, and money. He makes the child his beneficiary and winds up giving three thousand dollars to Moran and marrying Mary. But Mary has fallen in love with the lawyer and is loathe to continue working with Moran. Moran decides to have Ingalls murdered, but he and his hitman (William Hartman) are both killed instead, happily leaving Ingalls and Mary to continue their life together.
