Synopsis by Mark Deming
Assembled from material the legendary pianist Glenn Gould shot during his many appearances on Canadian television, this volume of The Glenn Gould Collection places the focus on Gould's attitude towards the orchestral conductor, speaking both as himself and under the humorous alter ego of "Sir Nigel Twitt-Thornwaite." Selections performed by Gould include Bach's Brandenburg Concerto in D Major and excerpts from Beethoven's Symphony No. 6 ("Pastoral").
