Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Debuting over the STV service in 1975, Glen Michael's Cavalcade was Scottish television's equivalent to the British kids' series Rolf Harris' Cartoon Time. Host Michaels, obviously well on in years, conversed with a puppet oil lamp -- yes, a puppet oil lamp -- named Paladin, and, in answer to written-in requests, showed classic cartoons. In fact, the series was originally called Glen Michael's Cartoon Cavalcade until a budget cut forced the producers to pare down the number of 'toons on each episode. By any name, the series managed to hang on until 1985.
