Synopsis by Hal Erickson
In each episode of this unofficial precursor to CW's The Farmer Wants a Wife, four women from the Big City converged on a sprawling western ranch for the purpose of persuading a handsome and wealthy male cowboy (age 25 or thereabouts) that at least one of them would make the perfect wife. Of course, the cowboy in question put the gals through their paces with backbreaking, time-consuming chores--and tested out their prowess on horseback--to find out if they were up to snuff. In the first six episodes, the girls showed up at ranches located in Arizona, Montana, California, Colorado, and Wyoming. Those who "got the boot" early on were compensated with a year's subscription to Match.com; the winners received an all-expense paid vacation with the cowboy of their choice. Oh, and did we mention that each episode featured a hot-tub sequence which required the ladies to wear skimpy bikinis? (this sort of thing never happened on Bonanza) Packaged by City Lights Television, Girl Meets Cowboy made its WE network bow on October 14, 2007.
