Synopsis by Janiss Garza
Rokaia (Louise Lovely) is an orphan girl raised in Persia. Unhappy with the customs, she escapes to Paris where she finds a home with the Marquis deTonquin (Wadsworth Harris). The Marquis has a wayward son, Marcel (Emory Johnson), and he sends Rokaia to live with him in the hopes that this will calm him down a bit. Amazingly, the plan does work, as Rokaia sets about reforming the young man. Maleo, a Persian (Rupert Julian, who also directed), disrupts this happy scenario by trying to drag Rokaia back to her old home. He's foiled, however, by Marcel and his friends. This entertaining comedy-melodrama was based on a play, Marcel's Birthday Present, by R. H. Durant.
