Synopsis by Jason Buchanan
Inspired by actual events, director Esteban Ramirez's Gestation follows two promising young students as they face the difficulties of dealing with an unplanned pregnancy. Jessie lives in San José, Costa Rica with her single mother, and attends a private Catholic school on scholarship. Though Jessie's classmate Teo hails from a much wealthier family, the two young students forge a powerful connection that soon blossoms into true love. Later, when Jessie learns that she is carrying Teo's baby, social pressures and class differences become key factors in deciding the future of their unborn child.
