Things aren't going well for the Experimentation Company TAs. Major Taniguchi has managed to overcome seemingly impossible odds and appears to be on the verge of killing the two pilots who thought they finally had him pinned. But rather than administering a killing blow, Taniguchi peels the head off of Kitazawa's TA and screams to the heavens before fleeing the scene. Meanwhile, Yushiro, Misuzu, Captain Akata, and Miharu are lifted onto a Special Forces helicopter. When they arrive at Gowa City, Misuzu is told to return home; Yushiro and his brothers have much to discuss. Miharu is left in Kiyotsugu's care, and Yushiro is asked to use his exceptional skills to capture Taniguchi before the SSDF is forced to destroy him. Yushiro agrees, on the condition that his brothers explain how he could have died eight years ago. The cryptic response: he is a kai. (American release in 2001.)
