Synopsis by Dan Pavlides
An unemployed bricklayer locks himself, his wife and their young child inside their home as he begins an armed standoff. Before retreating to his home, he shoots the statue of the town's patron saint at a parade. He kills his mother-in-law and torments his wife during the tense 24 hours that follow. Heavily armed, he contemplates showering the world around him with blazing gunfire. A kindly police official negotiates with the disturbed gunman, and eventually the young child is released unharmed as the police try to reason with a man who figures he has little or no reason to live.
