Bran Ferren is an award winning special effects technician. He made Funny in his spare time. The film consists entirely of footage of Hollywood celebrities and a few movie technicians telling jokes. Ironically, the non performers turn out to be better joke tellers than some of the actors shown. Ferren sometimes intercuts several people telling the same joke. Among the celebrities appearing are Eli Wallach, Dick Cavett, and Melissa Gilbert.
