Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Created for French television by Christophe and Benoit Di Sabatino, the weekly, half-hour animated series Funky Cops was a broad spoof of "mod" 1970s police shows. The central characters were two brothers who happened to be policemen: Ace was a former hairdresser, a fashion plate, and an all-around smoothie, while his brother Dick was a scruffy Dirty Harry wannabe. Going about their assigned duties on the streets of San Francisco by day, Ace and Dick managed to find time to become disco dancers by night. Just before its FOX network TV debut August 23, 2003, Funky Cops won an award at the Cartoon on the Bay International Animation Conference.
