Fruits of the Earth is a 23-part series examining the agricultural environment and farming technology used in a vast variety of regions around the world. Fruits of the Earth: Soya Bean takes viewers to the African country of Nigeria. Nigeria, a major grower of soya beans, feeds its hungry population with this versatile crop. Soya has twice the protein of meat and is used in many dishes and processed foods. It is also used to produce soya milk, cheese, and oil. Other programs in the series include Fruits of the Earth: Babassu, Fruits of the Earth: Leucaena, Fruits of the Earth: Winged Bean.
