Synopsis by Matt Collar

Possibly the most clever way of dealing with a cast pregnancy, this episode has Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow) -- actually expecting at the time -- undergo the procedure of implanting embryos in her uterus. The idea is that she is going to be the surrogate mother for her brother, Frank Jr. (Giovanni Ribisi), and his wife Alice's (Debra Jo Rupp) baby. Played deliciously by Ribisi and Rupp, the unlikely May-December couple are worried about the implant taking because they can only afford to do it once. Phoebe asks the doctor if there is anything she can do to get pregnant and the not-so-bright Frank Jr. suggests, "Why don't you get drunk! That worked for a bunch of girls in my high school." Meanwhile, another shake up in the Friends construct takes place when the girls have to switch apartments with the guys after losing a bet. In a contest designed by Ross (David Schwimmer), Monica (Courteney Cox) and Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) compete with Chandler (Matthew Perry) and Joey (Matt LeBlanc) to see who knows the other pair the best. Joey knows that Monica's biggest pet peeve is animals dressed as humans and Monica correctly guesses the name of Chandler's father's Las Vegas all-male burlesque as Viva Las Gaygas. Chandler admits that, "Unfortunately that is correct." The game is close, but when Rachel incorrectly names Chandler's data processing job as a "transponster," they must switch apartments. One of the funniest episodes in the Friends oeuvre ends with the proclamation by Frank Jr., "My sister's gonna have my baby!" This episode originally aired on January 5, 1998.
