Synopsis by Janiss Garza
The title to this manic Pokes and Jabbs one-reel comedy is quite apt. Pokes (Walter Stull) and Jabbs (Bobby Burns) run a business -- in their own fashion. While Jabbs is busy trying to keep the establishment afloat, Pokes is busy making time with Ethel, the stenographer (Ethel Burton). Frustrated with his partner's behavior, Jabbs fires Ethel. None of her potential replacements are any good, however, so he has to hire her back, and she makes him hire her friend, too. A customer shows up with a large sum of money, and even though the cash is carefully placed in a safe, it is stolen. Jabbs goes to fetch the police while Pokes gives chase to the crooks. Pokes manages to round up the bad guys, but the safe falls into the harbor. By the time Jabbs shows up with the cops, Pokes is in the midst of trying to retrieve the money.
